About Legato
01What is Legato?
A music player for the gym. Your music, sets and rest timer are on one screen, while the apps that distract you stay locked.
02Which music works with Legato?
Apple Music, SoundCloud and your own music files play inside Legato. Spotify works too: it opens in the Spotify app. Apple Music and SoundCloud may need their own subscription.
03Does my music keep playing when my apps are locked?
Yes. Your music plays inside Legato, so locking apps like Instagram or TikTok never stops your playlist.
04How does locking apps work?
You pick the apps that pull you out, using Apple’s Screen Time. They lock when you start a workout and unlock when you finish it.
05What if I really need an app?
Turn the dial five times and your apps unlock, unless you turned on hard lock (Pro). If a workout is never ended, for example because your phone died, your apps unlock by themselves after 4 hours. Opening Legato and ending the workout unlocks them right away.
06Is Legato free?
Yes. Legato Pro is an optional subscription: lock as many apps as you want, use hard lock, and get extra looks. The free version locks up to 3 apps.
07Do I need an account?
No. Without an account, everything stays on your phone. An account only backs up and syncs your profile, splits, sessions and settings. Which apps you lock, your music files and your music logins never leave your phone. More in the Privacy Policy.
08Does Legato track me?
No. There are no ads, no analytics and no trackers, and we never sell your data.
Account and billing
09How do I cancel Legato Pro?
Subscriptions run through your Apple ID, so you cancel there:
- Open Settings on your iPhone and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then Legato.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
You can also get there from Legato: Settings › Manage subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
10How do I restore my purchase?
Make sure you are signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to buy Pro. Then open Legato and go to Settings › Restore purchase. Pro is tied to your Apple ID, not to your Legato account, so this works even without an account.
Still not working? Email us with the date of your purchase. Never send card details.
11How do I delete my account?
In Legato, go to Settings › Account › Delete account and confirm. Your account and all synced data (profile, splits, sessions and settings) are deleted from our servers right away.
Your data on this phone stays, so you can keep training without an account. To clear the phone too, use Settings › Reset Legato. Deleting your account does not cancel Legato Pro; see question 09.
